Questions, answered
Is happs really free?
For personal users, yes, always. No catches, no upsells. For businesses, the Free tier gives you a verified profile, unlimited posts, and reach to your immediate neighbourhood. Upgrade to Pro when you want to reach your whole city.
What's the difference between the tiers?
It's all about geographic reach. Free reaches your immediate neighbourhood. Pro $39 reaches your whole city. Premium $79 reaches all of the GTA. Enterprise extends to every metro we operate in. The bigger your business, the bigger the reach you're paying for. That's the upgrade ladder.
Can Pro or Premium pay to dominate the feed?
No. Every Discover view caps at 2 posts per business, no matter what tier you're on. Same rule for businesses, neighbours, and personal posters. On every refresh, those 2 slots rotate so your customers see variety instead of the same post twice. This is our "Fair Feed" promise: no one can pay to flood Discover. Pro and Premium buy bigger geographic reach, longer durations, scheduling, multi-location, push credits, and hero boost slots. They do not buy section dominance.
Why can't personal accounts post Local Deals or commercial categories?
Those categories are inherently commercial. A normal person doesn't have a "grand opening" or run a restaurant. Locking commercial categories to verified business accounts keeps the platform honest and means when you see a Local Deal, you know it's from a real verified business.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Pay-as-you-go monthly on Pro and Premium. No contracts, no commitments, no cancellation fees. Enterprise is annual (with 2-month-free prepay discount) but custom-quoted to your needs. Stop whenever you want.
How long do my posts stay live?
Personal and Business Free: up to 14 days. Pro: 30 days. Premium: 90 days. Enterprise: custom. You can always set a shorter end date for time-limited deals like a weekend sale.
What's a "hero boost"?
A hero boost puts your post in the top-of-feed swipeable carousel for one full day. There are only 3 hero slots per day (we keep it scarce so users don't get ad-fatigued). $29/day for a neighbourhood boost (Free tier eligible), $59/day for city-wide (Pro tier), $99/day for GTA-wide (Premium tier). Pay only when you want a featured spot β no monthly minimum.
What are push notification credits?
When you post, your followers can get a phone-buzz notification (if they've opted in for that category). Free includes 1 push/month, Pro includes 4, Premium includes 12. Beyond your monthly cap, extras are $19 each. Hard cap of 2 phone buzzes per user per day platform-wide β even paying customers can't spam users.
I have multiple locations, how does that work?
Each location gets its own profile, address, and posts so customers in Vaughan only see the Vaughan store. Locations share your brand identity (logo, name, verified status). It's $10/location on top of your base subscription, with discounts at 5+ ($8/loc) and 15+ ($7/loc) stores.
My chain has stores in multiple cities. Pro or Premium?
5+ locations = Premium required. Pro is capped at 4 locations total (any cities). Past 4 stores, you're a real chain and need Premium. Beyond the location count, the products differ in how cross-city reach works: on Pro, each location's posts reach city-wide in its OWN city only β Vaughan store β Vaughan, Toronto store β Toronto, no cross-pollination. On Premium, ANY location's posts reach the entire GTA β one brand-wide Mother's Day campaign fires once and every GTA resident sees it. So Pro fits a small 2-4 location chain operating independently per-city. Premium fits regional chains where brand cohesion matters.
My business is already on happs (aggregated). Why pay?
Aggregated listings are the free trial. We pull events from your public website so you show up automatically. But aggregated listings can't push notifications to your followers, can't be branded with your logo, can't be edited if we get a date wrong, and don't include analytics. Verifying + upgrading unlocks the full product: push notifications, custom branding, control over your listings, GTA-wide reach, and analytics for your team.
I'm a major institution (mall, museum, regional brand). What tier should I look at?
Enterprise. We've custom-priced it for accounts like Yorkdale, Vaughan Mills, AGO, ROM, TIFF, Pride Toronto, Cadillac Fairview, and major regional chains. You get multi-metro reach as we expand cities, custom branding, API access for content sync, BI export, dedicated account management, and priority placement when contested.
